Civil and environmental engineers analyze, design, build, and maintain infrastructure to create, improve and protect the environment in which we live. We are actively engaged in addressing global and societal needs including a resilient and sustainable built environment, the transportation of humans and goods, and the mitigation of the effects of human activities on the natural environment.
The mission of the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering is to provide students with a broad, fundamental real-world educational program to prepare them to contribute actively to engineering practice while considering public health and safety, social equity, and environmental and economic factors. Our programs develop creative thinking and innovation skills that enable engineers to develop new solutions to local, national and global problems related to the built and natural environment. We are dedicated to maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment for students, faculty and staff. We are committed to empowering our students, developing life-long learners, and instilling a sense of professional responsibility.
