Dr. Manish Roy, Associate Professor in Residence and Distinguished Engineering Educator in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been elected First-Term Director of the Civil Engineering Division within the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) for the 2026–2027 term.
The Civil Engineering Division, part of ASEE's Professional Interest Council 4 (PIC 4), works to advance the quality of civil engineering education by supporting innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs. Through conferences, professional development, and collaboration among educators, the division helps shape the future of engineering education across the country.
As First-Term Director, Roy begins a three-year elected leadership progression that includes serving as First-Term Director, Midterm Director, and Senior Director. During his first year, he will chair the Division's Membership Committee while also serving as Division Webmaster, helping strengthen member engagement and support initiatives that advance civil engineering education.
Roy was elected by his peers as part of the 2026–2027 ASEE Civil Engineering Division leadership team, recognizing his commitment to engineering education and professional service.
