Senior Design Day Showcases Student Innovation in Civil and Environmental Engineering Department

Storrs, Connecticut

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering recently celebrated its highly anticipated Senior Design Day, providing a platform for budding engineers to showcase their innovative projects and demonstrate their expertise in tackling real-world challenges. The event, held on Friday, April 28, 2023, brought together students, faculty, industry professionals, and members of the public to witness the culmination of months of hard work and dedication.

Senior Design Day featured a range of impressive projects, with teams competing for recognition and prizes. Notably, the top three projects in the Civil Engineering category were:

First Place: CE17, Southwest Pass Head Range Rear Light Replacement

Second Place: CE18, Seismic Retrofit of Building 14

Third Place: CE09, New Haven Union Station Platform Canopy Design

In addition to the Civil Engineering projects, the Environmental Engineering category showcased remarkable achievements. The top three projects in the Environmental Engineering category were:
